Jerusalem represents the city of David where the King’s seat of authority and rule will reign when Jesus returns.  Rome represents Caesar, the king of humanity and our misguided rule under Satan’s authority.  Jerusalem and Rome both reject Jesus in John’s Gospel.

Jerusalem becomes the birth place of Christ’s called out ones.  The salvation message of Jesus first goes to the Jews, then to the Gentiles.  At first the Jewish believers are the leaders of Christ’s Church, but then Christ will conquer Caesar.  The Gentiles who rule Rome will take the message to the world.

This begins the age of the Gentiles as Luke notes in Acts 28.  Now that age is coming to an end.  All eyes begin to turn to Jerusalem…
